The next extended walk is on Monday 2nd March 2026 and will be a walk from Dartford following the river Darent and Dartford creek to the Thames, under the QE2 bridge and down to Crossways Lake where we will have lunch, see attached map of the route. We will meet outside Holy Trinity Church in the High Street, Dartford.

The lunch stop will be at The Wharf, Cotton Lake, Dartford, DA2 6QE, Tel: 01322 229939 and their menu is attached. We will aim to be at the pub by 1:30 pm for lunch. Their website is www.wharfcrossways.co.uk Dogs are welcome but only in the bar rather than the restaurant. I have made a preliminary booking for 15 but more people can be accommodated. Please let me know if you intend to come on this walk and advise me of your menu choice by Sunday 22nd February if you are stopping for lunch.

We will need to get the Fasttrack bus A back to Home Gardens, Dartford, and I have indicated the location of the bus stop on the attached map. There is a capped charge of £3 per person, it may be less than this. You can pay by credit card by tapping in/out or cash. Free for people with a bus-pass. Buses are every 15 minuets and it takes about 17 minutes to Home Gardens.

Travelling to Dartford: From Crockenhill there is a 477 bus at 0857 arrives 0935 at Home Gardens, however if it’s cut out then you would miss the walk, so I feel the best way to travel is to car share and park in Dartford. The Acacia car park, 82, High Street, Dartford which is £5 for 4 hours plus up to 8pm. You can pay by credit card, cash or Ringo App.

My email address, robertbrickell50@gmail.com
