2026 Walk Details
EXTENDED WALK for Monday 13th April 2026
The next extended walk is on Monday 13th April 2026 and will be a circular walk from The Duke of Wellington PH, Ryarsh, see attached map of the route.
The lunch stop will be at The Duke of Wellington, Birling Road, Ryarsh, ME19 5LS, Tel: 01732 842318 and their menus are attached. We will aim to be at the pub by 1:30 pm for lunch. Their website is www.dukeofwellingtonryarsh.com
Martin Williamson has made a preliminary booking for 20 people. Please let me know if you intend to come on this walk and advise me of your menu choice by Sunday 5th April if you are stopping for lunch. We can park in the pub’s large car park at the rear.
The walk will commence at the car park and The route from Ryarsh to Holy Hill is a little steep but from then on, it’s quite easy. The views are spectacular and there should be Bluebells in the woods in April.

The total walk distance is 8 miles.
Directions: From Swanley take the M20 to junction 4. At the exit roundabout take the third exit and at the second roundabout take the third exit onto Bull Road. Continue to the junction with the Nevill Bull and turn left onto Ryarsh Road which changes to Birling Road continue into Ryarsh and the Duke of Wellington is on the left.
EXTENDED WALK for Monday 2nd March 2026
The next extended walk is on Monday 2nd March 2026 and will be a walk from Dartford following the river Darent and Dartford creek to the Thames, under the QE2 bridge and down to Crossways Lake where we will have lunch, see attached map of the route. We will meet outside Holy Trinity Church in the High Street, Dartford.
The lunch stop will be at The Wharf, Cotton Lake, Dartford, DA2 6QE, Tel: 01322 229939 and their menu is attached. We will aim to be at the pub by 1:30 pm for lunch. Their website is www.wharfcrossways.co.uk Dogs are welcome but only in the bar rather than the restaurant. I have made a preliminary booking for 15 but more people can be accommodated. Please let me know if you intend to come on this walk and advise me of your menu choice by Sunday 22nd February if you are stopping for lunch.
We will need to get the Fasttrack bus A back to Home Gardens, Dartford, and I have indicated the location of the bus stop on the attached map. There is a capped charge of £3 per person, it may be less than this. You can pay by credit card by tapping in/out or cash. Free for people with a bus-pass. Buses are every 15 minuets and it takes about 17 minutes to Home Gardens.
Travelling to Dartford: From Crockenhill there is a 477 bus at 0857 arrives 0935 at Home Gardens, however if it’s cut out then you would miss the walk, so I feel the best way to travel is to car share and park in Dartford. The Acacia car park, 82, High Street, Dartford which is £5 for 4 hours plus up to 8pm. You can pay by credit card, cash or Ringo App.

Directions: From your home using Google maps UK type in your home post code then “to Acacia Car Park 82 High Street Dartford Kent” to see the route. When you turn left into the car park from Darenth Road go straight ahead into the car park, you will cross over the Kent Fastway box junction which is buses only. It’s a short walk down to the church.
